The client.

Parity Professionals provides Avanade with contract and permanent technical and business specialists.  The staff that we provide either work directly for Avanade or on Avanade client projects, which can be located in the UK or in overseas including Mainland Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and the Far East.  Typically, we are asked to source candidates with niche skills and experience as demanded by individual project scopes and we therefore often work within highly defined search parameters. 

Parity Professionals is a PSL supplier, which is dependent on us passing an annual supplier review.

The challenge.

Parity Professionals' approach to working with Avanade was, as with all of our clients, is based on building relationships and working collaboratively with them to find the right individuals against their vacancies.  As such, our initial approach was to appoint a dedicated Account Manager who then met with the client to understand their processes, branding, skills required and right fit candidates.

Following this, we implemented an Avanade databank setting out key processes and points of contact.  This is accessible to the wider Account Team and has enabled us to offer consistent and efficient service delivery over the period of time we have been working with Avanade.

Since initially implementing our service, we have focussed on providing a proactive and collaborative service to Avanade.  We maintain regular telephone and onsite contact to review our general performance and that of the staff that we place. 

Solution and approach.

In implementing the service, Parity Professionals used our tried and tested service delivery model which, as outlined above, is based on the appointment of a dedicated Account Manager and initial meetings to ascertain Avanade’s processes, branding, skills required and right fit candidates. A key element of our model is close, a collaborative working to identify where we can add further value to their business.  This has resulted in several service innovations:

  • We meet with Avanade when each role is vacancy is released to qualify the key skills, experience and qualities sought in order to develop a tailored candidate search methodology
  •  We have advised Avanade on the content and format of job specifications so that they are pitched appropriately to candidates
  • Avanade arrange regular agency briefings and seminars to communicate new projects, and we use this information to proactively pool candidates in preparation to vacancies being released

Parity Professionals provides Avanade with regular Management Information which has been tailored to their requirements.  We also undertake regular reviews of our overall service and candidate performance.

The nature of Avanade’s business model means that we are required to source candidates with niche technical skills.  This means that in addition to our usual candidate identification routes of our database of 270,000 candidates and the wide range of web resources that we subscribe to, we undertake targeted headhunting through our candidate networks and through LinkedIn. 

Candidates also have to offer a high degree of adaptability in order to provide high quality technical consulting to end clients that operate within a range of differing market sectors including Regulatory, Telecoms, Public Sector, Defence, Health, Retail and FMCG.  We address this through candidate vetting to ensure that candidates put forward to Avanade have the required skills, background and aptitude. As part of this, we have produced an Avanade briefing pack focussing on the Avanade structure, market position, and ‘key facts’ which we use in discussing Avanade roles with potential candidates.
