Job Description

Business Architect - Central Scotland - 6 months

Experienced Business Architect required for an initial 6 month contract based in Glasgow or Edinburgh. The Business Architect will work closely with the Service Manager, the product owners and other staff across theProgramme to define and articulate the business requirements that arise, and ensure that these are going to be delivered through implementation plans.

Among your main duties, you should expect to be involved in the following:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business capabilities required to deliver the benefits.
  • Articulate this through a suite of appropriate documentation and communications material for a range of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support service managers, product owners and multi-disciplinary delivery teams in mapping the overall business capabilities to detailed user stories and requirements for delivery, including through advising on procurement activity.
  • Building capability and providing knowledge transfer with permanent staff, chiefly in service manager and product owner roles within the Programme

Essential experience required but not limited to -

  • Strong experience of mapping and describing business capabilities and requirements at both an enterprise level (covering the whole of an organisation's functions) and in more detail for individual services within an organisation
  • Strong experience of articulating requirements at different levels and in different ways, depending on the audience and the complexity of the service
  • A good understanding of public sector procurement practices in Scotland
  • Strong experience of working in a change management environment, delivering complex work with multi-disciplinary teams and supporting others to build their knowledge and capability.
