Job Description

Costing Specialist - 6-months - Edinburgh/Glasgow - £15 p/h

We here at Parity have challenging and exciting opportunity for a Costing Specialist to join our utilities client on an initial 6-month interim. You will provide insights into costs, carry out reporting and analysis of data. You will be helping us identify patterns and trends and build engaging visualisations that simplify complex data.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing, extracting and loading large data files while ensuring their completeness and integrity.
  • Understanding the relationships between different data sets to gain the maximum benefit out of the cost data.
  • Build and run Excel benchmarking models (e.g. VBA; Macros) to populate reports and conduct analysis.
  • Analyse the cost data to understand its business impact and think creatively about providing the meaningful insights that will drive effective decision making and deliver efficiencies.
  • Providing support for initiatives to improve estimating capability, including processes, procedures and systems e.g. asset expenditure efficiency reporting.
  • Business Reporting

Essential Skills

  • Excellent Excel skills e.g. complex formulae, use of Macros/VBA
  • Must possess highly developed numeric, analytical and literary skills including the ability to understand, interpret and manage large volumes of complex data and share its meaning with team members.
  • Experience of the identification, collation and management of data from a variety of sources to support cost analysis, including the use of supporting tools.
  • The ability to proactively problem solve and seek continuous improvement in the quality of analysis and service delivery.

Must have a full driving licence
