Telephone Interviewers - Part-time - Evenings and weekends
We are currently recruiting interviewers to work evening shifts and some Saturday mornings up to a total of 28 hours. Start times can be flexible between 3 and 5pm, although all shifts finish at 9pm and you will be expected to work until then. Extra hours on an occasional basis are often available depending on levels of skill and experience.
Telephone Interviewers have to be excellent communicators, so you will need to have a pleasant and friendly personality and a clear speaking voice. The confidence to converse with a wide selection of people in order to gain respondents' interest and co-operation is essential. As is the ability to adapt your approach to the different circumstances you will encounter. The ability to persuade reluctant people to agree to be interviewed is an important aspect of the job - we'll provide training to help you with this.
Telephone interviewing is conducted using a computer so keyboard skills are essential. An ability to work independently with minimal supervision is also a key requirement.
Full training on all aspects of data collection and interviewing skills will be given, but you should be able to use a PC, be able to follow detailed instructions and record data accurately.
Ideally you should have experience of customer service or call centre type employment. Successful candidates will ideally have experience in a phone based role, such as Customer Service, previous telephone interviewing or in a call centre environment.
