Developer - Glasgow - Permanent - Drupal

Experienced Drupal Developer required on a permanent basis with our public sector client based in Glasgow.

The Developer takes a lead technical role in the development of the customer facing digital products and services, delivering the software components that allow the online products to operate. Coding in multiple programming languages within a Drupal environment, they design, develop and test the software that meets both internal stakeholder and end user's needs, providing both the website tools used by Staff, and the final website or application used by customers.

The developer will work in partnership with product, content and programme staff, implementing an agile approach to product delivery. They follow best practise guidelines and work with others to improve those guidelines to ensure that the code written is clean, secure and well-tested, and are responsible for the ongoing maintenance and operation of the websites.

Essential skills/experience require -

  • Be educated to SCQF level 7 in a Computer Science subject or related discipline, or have relevant equivalent experience
  • Experience with the creation and management of website/web apps in Drupal
  • Significant experience in Drupal 7/8
  • Excellent knowledge of GIT
  • Experience working with existing code, and adding enhancements to established websites
  • Experience integrating 3rd party solutions and working with API
  • Experience of developing to meet accessibility standards
  • Understanding of the development lifecycle
  • Write clean, well-engineered OOP code, respectful of the development standards and best practices
  • Knowledge of relational databases and NoSQL
  • Knowledge of at least one JavaScript framework (preferably Angular)
  • Able to translate user stories and propose design approaches and services
