Our leading public sector client is looking for an Enterprise Data Architect to work in Leeds on a 2 Year Fixed Term Contract.

Enterprise - Data Architect - 2 years FTC - Up to 55K - Leeds

Our client is looking for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to join the IT Services team during an exciting period of change. Reporting to the IT Executive, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the data strategy across our whole organisation. Working closely with the business leads in our Strategy and Planning department, you will lead the creation of our strategic enterprise data architecture approach and take responsibility for core elements of the IT data architecture, ensuring they support business strategy.

As an Enterprise Data Architect your main duties will include:

  • Defining the vision, principles, policies, strategy and standards for our enterprise data, to meet legal, regulatory and business needs;
  • Developing our Enterprise Reference Data Architecture, including an understanding of key business data sources and outputs, data modelling, master data management, and data movement through the enterprise;
  • Overseeing all enterprise-level efforts that affect critical business data, and supporting business case development for major programmes of business change;
  • Defining the goals and measures for improvements in our enterprise data lifecycle;
  • Leading improvement of the availability, timeliness, integration, and security of data
  • Working within the current Enterprise Architecture team and collaborating with our business partners to maximise the impact and value of information across our organisation;
  • Working with senior stakeholders on the development of business, data and technology roadmaps, and developing the high-level view of the "current" and "target" enterprise data architecture (including any transitional architectures required);

Skills/Experienced Required:

  • Significant practical experience working at a senior level as a data architect in a large organisation, demonstrating an ability to quickly build and maintain effective working relationships;
  • Experience of undertaking in-depth analysis, facilitating and re-designing strategically critical business data and business processes to develop effective solutions to complex problems;
  • The ability to articulate potential changes to business data and business processes confidently and accurately to a range of stakeholders in a variety of formats;
  • Demonstrable experience in defining flexible and scalable information architecture, and an understanding of wider architectural issues including experience in data technologies such as data warehousing, integration platforms, and solution domains
  • Specific knowledge across either Enterprise Application Integration; Enterprise Data Integration; Enterprise Integration Platforms; Data Warehousing; Service Orientated Architecture; Business Data Modelling;
  • A track record of excellence in leadership, demonstrating effective skills which include planning, organising and interpersonal skills in managing staff who are not your direct line reports;
  • Demonstrable effective communication skills: you must be able to communicate at all levels within a complex organisation, specifically with a range of stakeholders
