Job Description
£55,000 - £65,000 + flexible working, 25 days holidays
Hands up if you're an ETL Developer who isn't getting the chance to use new technologies and/or isn't getting the chance to showcase your knowledge in developing and designing ETL processes. Keep them up if you want to change this and work somewhere that you can explore new technologies around making real-time analytics across multiple data stores as efficient as possible.
This role is not your average ETL role! What we're looking for is someone who can not only come in and do the ETL development, you'll also have a major input into which tools are used for real-time analytics and make the right tech choices for the company. If you have dealt with large volumes of data and have a passion for using the right tools for real-time trend based analysis then this could be right up your street.
The start of your role.....
The scene at the moment is an absolute dream for a passionate ETL Data specialist as they have huge volumes of data which needs to be productised and transformed into something meaningful from the logfiles that they're currently in. They currently have a range of SQL and non SQL based datastores from SQL Server, MongoDB, and Azure, and are already using tools such as AWS Redshift and Snowplow and this is where your role will begin.
Where this company differs to many is that they don't just say they want to make better use of their data, they actually mean it which is why they want someone who can come in, assess what they do now, make recommendations about how they can do it better and then take a lead role in implementing it. They're keen on investigating the benefits of using Elastic Stack as well as or instead of Redshift and want to ensure that the real-time trend analytics they run makes them ahead of the game which is where you come in playing a key part in helping to develop and grow this exciting new area of the business.
Technical skills/experience needed:
- Experience with multiple data stores such as AWS Redshift, SQLServer, MongoDB, Google BigQuery etc.
- ETL experience with a mix of SQL and non-SQL datastores
- Experience of working with event based and unstructured data is a must.
- Knowledge of how to develop a governance framework to monitor and maintain the integrity and performance of the data store.
This is a great role for a data enthusiast in a company who have a very forward thinking attitude, will give you the best tools to do your job effectively. They also offer a truly adult working environment with real flexible working and home working options and have a relaxed dress code
