Finance Analyst/ Edinburgh/ Glasgow / £180-£210 / 12 months

We have fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Economist / Finance Analyst to work with one of our public-sector client for a 12 months contract based in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

In this role you will be providing economic advice on rail and road issues and works predominantly on rail issues. The post holder will work closely with the rail policy team and the transport planning team.

Essential:

• Professional economist/Analysis and Use of Evidence: Applied microeconomic analysis. This includes economic appraisal, impact assessment, monitoring and evaluation and valuing non-market benefits. Technical skills developed include working with Excel and specialist modelling software.
• Communications and engagement: Working with stakeholders; Building effective working relationships with policy colleagues; communicating complex information in clear ways.
• Improving performance: Project management; Research commissioning.
• Financial management. Interpreting and using financial data to inform decision-making.
