Head of Performance & Development Practice
Parity is looking for an exceptional leading consultant to develop its Performance and Development practice.
Our philosophy is that technology or data alone do not deliver results - it's always people who make the difference. We believe in the positive power of data when it's in the hands of people who want to make better decisions and we help people get the most from the digital tools our clients have given them; be that a new marketing database or a full deployment of Office365.
We're developing a new practice to complement our existing strengths in data management consulting and supplying talented people. Our P&D practice will focus on the soft skills and human processes that enable teams to use data and technology to support bold decisions.
The practice leader
We are looking for a creative and commercially minded leader who can build a new business pipeline, develop client-focused teams who care about customer success and who can manage a network of skilled associates to deliver transformation.
The role comes with revenue and profit responsibility. Our strategy is to deliver above average margin from our consultancy work and the P&D practice should focus on work that generates good net returns and can support the growth of our recruitment and our technical advisory workstreams.
Importantly, the practice is part of our growth plans and the role will bring an opportunity to build a business that increases the overall size and value of Parity.
We are investing in our marketing and are reorganising to enhance the strong existing relationships we have with clients. We are also consolidating our sales effort in a new business team.
The head of practice will prioritise new business development, both from our existing client base and from organisations that are new to Parity. The practice will also generate opportunities for colleagues in our other practice areas.
Most likely, this will involve supporting marketing effort and helping build our brand though writing, conference participation or networking.
Professional skills areas
The practice will need access to a wide range of skills and expertise and it is likely that the head of practice will have significant experience in at least one of the following practice fields:
- Organisational development
- Talent development
- Learning and development (including senior coaching and mentoring)
- Organisation change
- Process design
- Generalist human resources at a senior level in a complex organisation or in a consulting environment.
The head of practice will be a consultant with experience of projects in a variety of situations. They will understand the process of:
- Brief taking
- Insight gathering
- Solution recommendation
- Account management
- Account development
- Commercial management.
We are most interested in higher value projects and so the head of practice should be skilled at developing senior level relationships and be able to act as a trusted advisor rather than simply being a solution provider.
Team and network leadership
This role will initially be charged with developing a team within the company in response to specific contracts with clients. We also need someone who can develop a network of skilled associates such as coaches or L&D specialists to support us transform our clients.
Our leader will model excellent consulting practice and ensure that the team deliver to the highest standards and generate repeat work from clients.
It is likely that our head of practice will be a confident leader who can develop their own business and collaborate with others to ensure the success of the whole organisation. They will be a trusted advisor who understands the needs of clients as individuals and have a passion for finding innovative solutions.
They will part of the leadership cadre of Parity and able to get results by influencing and involving.
