Health & Safety Regional Group Manager

Perm. Leeds or Birmingham. £47,304-£65,280 Per Annum + Benefits.

Health and Safety Regional Group Manager required to act as client representative with responsibility for developing robust, collaborative relationships with procurement, commercial, planning, design and supply chain to ensure health and safety is at the forefront of all construction projects throughout the preconstruction elements. This will involve collaborating widely to ensure that safety legislation, safety policies and practices, Highways England's specific safety requirements are followed and taken into account throughout the internal process of planning, design, procurement, commercial and that the hierarchy of control is suitably demonstrated at each stage to minimise reputational threats due to operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries. To do this you will use your knowledge of health and safety legislation to improve business awareness of the consequence of failure to act and demonstrate the ability to engage positively at all levels to achieve business appreciation and buy in.

Skills and experience

  • You will have a degree or NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety and membership of a recognised engineering or safety professional body, e.g. CMIOSH.
  • In addition you must have demonstrable experience of leading collaborative interactions to plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health and safety issues and risks during the pre-construction stages including design, planning, procurement, commercial and pre start phases to deliver H&S objectives and the ability to align to the organasations imperatives and behaviours. It is also desirable that you can show CDM2015 duty understanding and experience of delivery of client responsibilities can clearly be demonstrated.
