Job Description

HR SYSTEMS Business Analyst

Contract. £400-£450 PER DAY. London. 6 Months + . Public Sector

Immediate Start: Senior Business & HR Systems Analyst required on a initial 6 Month contract in London. This role will report into the HR Transformation Programme Manager and will be responsible for capturing and documenting clear functional requirements for a new HR system, covering the full 'hire to retire' processes/functions and also a fully-outsourced Payroll service. In addition to capturing the functional requirements, the candidate will collate the non-functional requirements from various stakeholders within the IM&T directorate, covering all aspects such as security, support and maintenance (service management), licence management etc. Once the procurement has concluded, the role holder will be required to document business and system processes using the principles of BPMN. Fully managing the matrix of requirements through delivery and end user acceptance and documenting interface specifications, will be key activities and deliverable throughout the duration of the project to design appropriate solutions for implementation.

Role accountabilites

  • Manage the requirements development for applying technology to satisfy business needs, including facilitation and documentation
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis and task and work flow analysis
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and decompose high-level information into details
  • Work with business unit/directorate/functional leads, Business Relationship Managers and the Solution Architect to transform and develop new requirements into fit-for-purpose solution designs for implementation
  • Liaise with the business stakeholders developing strategy by acting as technical advisor for new functionality available from the existing platforms, releases, and upgrades
  • Liaise with vendor partners to identify optimal solutions to meet business requirements
  • Document changes to the design and implementation of existing solutions and new solutions
  • Design and specify work flows, approval processes, and validation rules based on internal stakeholder requirements
  • Create training materials and documentation for business users
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyse information needs and functional requirements and deliver the needed artefacts (e.g. functional requirements, business requirements document, use cases, GUI and screen and interface designs)

Skills and experience required

  • HR operations and transformation programmes including systems implementations to support business change
  • Extensive experience in a full software implementation and solution development lifecycle /SDLC project environment (Agile and/or Waterfall) through to UAT and training in some cases
  • Experience of UML, Use Cases, User Stories, Business Process Modelling, BPMN or Change Management
  • Medium to Enterprise level HR systems such as iTrent,
    Workday, PeopleSoft Payroll and expenses feeds into Finance ERP systems
    Integration/Interfaces, Enterprise Service Bus/MS . Azure technology
  • Degree in an analytical subject or equivalent level of experience of
    working at a senior level in specialist area BCS/ISEB BA Diploma or 3+
    years as a Senior Business Analyst
  • Prince2 Foundation
  • Certified SCRUM Master or
    equivalent experience
