Job Description

Interaction Designer - Titchfield - 9 Month Contract - £20 - £24 per hour

Public sector organisation seeking Interaction designer to deliver the technical capability across a range of solutions and technologies, as well as other areas of the programme. You'll be working out the best way to let users interact with services, in terms of both overall flow and at the level of individual design elements. You'll work with service managers and programme directors to develop design concepts and may have responsibility across complex services. You'll help to set direction and embed good practice within teams, as well making key decisions based on research and understand how this research impacts others.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll:

  • take responsibility for translating and driving through findings from users into design concepts, prototypes and production assets
  • work closely with development teams to ensure design is implemented correctly
  • deliver designs that meet web standards, ensuring that key elements are built in from the outset
  • facilitate user research (including observing and providing recommendations) and then iterating designs based on the outcomes

About you:

You'll be an expert in:

  • understanding users and identifying who they are and what their needs are based on evidence
  • translating user stories and proposing design approaches/services to meet these needs, and engaging in meaningful interactions and relationships with users
  • designing interactions by applying technical knowledge and experience to design or create workable prototypes, both digital and physical outputs
  • prototyping in code, but not necessarily producing production-ready code, and communicating effectively with developers
