Application Support Analyst (SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014, T-SQL, XML)
2-3 months - Edinburgh - £132 per day
Application Support Analyst required to work on a helpdesk managing incidents for a public-sector client. The role will include carrying out initial investigation, fault resolution, routine maintenance activities and access management. You will interface with users, managing requests and routine infrastructure tasks, including backup monitoring and data management.
The successful candidate will also be involved in database management tasks such as security and access management, database maintenance, data loading and investigating database problems.
- Experience of IT incident management and support processes gained in an application support environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2012 or 2014 administration and experience of using T-SQL for administrative tasks and basic queries
- Understanding and experience of database systems, data structures and data management principles
- It would be beneficial to have experience of networking technologies such as TCP/IP and XML technologies
