Senior Networking Engineer

CCNP, Cisco, VXLAN, TCPIP

An opportunity for an experienced Senior Networking Engineer to join a key public sector organisation based in Edinburgh. We are looking to recruit experienced professionals for 6 months with strong skills, primarily focussed but not restricted to Cisco networking and routing, firewall administration and design and VMware NSX SDN.

Essential knowledge required

• Linux Sysadmin
• VXBlock Instrastructure Administration (EMC VNX, CISCO UCS, VMware)
• DEVOPS (Ansible, Jenkins, Containerisation, Docker, Openshift, ELK)
• Minimum CCNP certified
• Enterprise network support experience
• LAN / WAN networking knowledge
• Expert knowledge of IP, routing and other networking technologies
• Expert knowledge of cisco products and Cisco IOS
• Expert knowledge of MDS storage fabric networking concepts
• Knowledge/experience in VXLAN overlay technologies (preferably VMware NSX in a multi-site platform)

Desirable Criteria includes

• Experience of designing, implementing and operating a VMware NSX SDN platform
• Experience of working in a DevOps environment

This role is deemed outside IR35
