Paralegal - 23 months - Edinburgh

Our public-sector client has fantastic opportunity for a skilled Paralegal to be involved with an ongoing public inquiry based in Edinburgh City Centre for a 23-month contract.

As a Paralegal, your role will involve providing a wide variety of support to the inquiry's legal team, including Solicitors and Advocates.

Previous experience of working in a high-profile and public-facing environment are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will be resilient and be able to engage with sensitive and challenging subject matter on a daily basis.

Essential Skills:

  • Previous experience supporting solicitors, advocates and legal team across a variety of duties
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a proven ability to build and maintain effective cross-departmental relationships
  • Excellent analytical skills and a proven ability to analyse and interpret complex information - experience researching and organising robust information from a variety of sources
  • Strong personal resilience - this role will involve working with personally challenging case work and witness statements and a robust, flexible, and resilient approach to personal and professional management is essential
  • Ability to use initiative to carry out tasks independently with minimum oversight, and an awareness of the need for appropriate discretion and confidentiality
  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft office and proven administrative skills
