Procurement Support Officer

Contract. 3 Months +. Wolverhampton

Procurement Support Officer required to assist the delivery of procurement and contract management functions, in a manner that reduces waste, maximises efficiency, achieves best value in procurement and enables delivery of savings efficiency.

The role

  • To assist and enable the delivery of commercially focused procurement and contract functions, working closely with key stakeholders, to ensure that corporate objectives and service needs are achieved
  • To assist the delivery of designated procurement and contract management activities, applying procurement and contract management knowledge, in a manner that reduces waste, maximises efficiency
  • To assist the development, implementation and delivery of contract management and procurement strategies, activities, processes and, contract enforcement notices and strategic performance reports systems across a range of contracts, to ensure that goods and services provide value for money and are compliant with service specification and contractual terms and conditions.
  • To contribute to delivery of efficiencies and service improvements, leading on continuous improvement initiatives working closely with service areas to better manage performance and expenditure
  • To provide advice and information to service areas on the management and compliance
  • To assist the development, dispatch, evaluation and completion of designated tenders, ensuring that are effectively and efficiently project managed, in accordance with Legislative and Constitutional and Procurement operational requirements
  • To assist the development and maintenance of systems and procedures to maximise e-procurement
  • To produce and provide accessible, accurate and reliable management information, as directed, in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring the production of useful intelligence to support continuous improvement of services.
  • To undertake complex analysis and compilation of management information using a range of software applications such as Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Power point
