Job Description

Project Lead - Edinburgh - 3 months

Experienced Project Lead required for an initial 3 month contract based in Edinburgh. This is a high-profile and exciting programme of work which has political, public and media interest.

Main Duties:

  • As a project lead you will be responsible for leading and coordinating project governance with product owners
  • You will ensure that the service team is resourced appropriately in line with the plan and budget, and that the resources have the capabilities and skills to deliver to the standard required to ensure success in the delivery of the service.
  • Lead the ongoing development and management of the project-level plan, ensuring alignment with the Programme integrated plan.
  • Working with a range of stakeholders to lead on the management of dependencies across the Programme - both between Projects and externally. This will include working with teams to identify, agree and document dependencies, and the maintenance of a central dependency register;
  • Undertake service-level planning and dependency management, maintaining a two-way flow of information between the service and its constituent parts;
  • Own and manage the service level risk and issues log, ensuring risks are updated and escalated as required
  • Ensure the LIB service team has in place proportionate governance, working closely with the PMO to ensure alignment
  • Support the service manager in supplier management activities
  • Take the lead on service level assurance, liaising with PMO to ensure the required assurance gates take place and have the required support.
  • Assist with the continual improvement of the service (incl. Lessons Learned), and the arrangements for an appropriate transfer of skills and knowledge.

Essential skills required include (but are not limited to) -

  • Proven track record in successful project delivery in an agile environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and engagement skills, including influencing and persuasion skills.
  • Experience of setting priorities, roles and responsibilities for yourself and others particularly in a Project setting.

Applicants must have a valid Basic Disclosure Scotland Certificate dated within the last 12 months
