Purchasing Assistant - 6 Month Contract - Nottinghamshire

£12.00ph - £12.17ph

Our public sector client is actively seeking a Purchasing Assistant on an initial 6 month contract.

As a Purchasing Assistant you will be responsible for carrying out a full range of procurement tasks complying with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Record and source customer non-catalogue requirements through appropriate compliant existing or new arrangements
Receive customer and supplier queries and take appropriate action to resolve them, where necessary liaising with other members of the Catalogue Buying Team, other internal teams and the supplier base
Operating in all product portfolios as directed by the Catalogue Supply Manager, carry out the following procurement tasks in liaison with the relevant Catalogue Buyer, as and when required
Prepare all tender documentation in accordance with Supplies procedures
Organise and record dispatch of tender documentation to selected or all requesting suppliers according to tender procedure
Input data from submitted bids, ensuring accuracy and full understanding of quality and unit price, using Excel; and produce relevant evaluation reports as required
Co-ordinate the receipt, distribution to customers, and return of supplier's product samples for testing purposes, where applicable
In the production of the annual multi-page County Supplies Catalogue, working closely with the Desk Top Publisher and Catalogue Buying Team; assist with data checking, text inputting, picture imposition and page formatting as required

Education, Knowledge and Specialised Training
Certificate in Purchasing and Supply - Level 3 or equivalent
RSA IBT 2 level or equivalent.
A general knowledge of purchasing procedures in a catalogue buying based environment.
NCC procurement processes and financial regulations
