SAP Business Analyst (HR and Payroll)

Fixed Term. 2 Years. Leeds.£32k-£38,183 Per Annum. Additional Benefits

SAP Business Analyst/ Functional Specialist (HR and Payroll) required to join an organisation in Leeds. SAP Analyst with a back ground in Human Resources and Payroll required to help with the continuous improvement of business critical systems. The role

  • Developing and maintaining an in depth understanding of the HR and Payroll business processes
  • Acting as Internal Consultant in recommending HR or Payroll system and process enhancements making optimal use of standard functionality, proactively liaising with business owners and other key users to identify, understand and define their requirements for projects and small work requests;
  • Designing, developing and implementing SAP HR/Payroll solutions, producing supporting functional and technical specifications;
  • Establishing excellent working relationships with key business owners and colleagues within IT, including regular meetings with business owners to prioritise support and development activities;
  • Effectively planning, managing and monitoring your own workload and activities;
  • Applying best practice in business analysis in order to produce detailed user requirements documenting the time, effort and skills required during all phases to deliver optimum solutions;
  • Ensuring solutions and changes are tested and industry best practice including supporting User Acceptance Testing;
  • Providing support to users of SAP HR/Payroll and its associated systems which will include responding to calls logged with the IT Service Desk and positively engaging with users to resolve these in a timely manner;
  • Ensuring compliance with the documentation, data protection and auditing requirements;
  • Working with the SAP basis team to implement SAP system patches, enhancements and upgrades; Investigating the impact of SAP support packages and enhancement packs on supported business processes; undertaking research on development of new and additional SAP functionality and associated solutions to ensure continuous service improvement is achieved;
  • Investigating system issues to identify causes and agree solutions where appropriate;
  • Supporting the maintenance of user documentation and training material.

Skills and experience

  • Significant experience of configuring SAP HR/Payroll modules; Experience of working in a customer-focused support role; Experience of using business analysis skills to support the definition and design of IT solutions;
  • The ability to deliver business systems to the specified requirements, within tight deadlines and to high quality assurance standards;
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities;
  • The ability to communicate effectively to a diverse audience, including the ability to translate technical detail into lay terms, to a wide range of audiences;
  • Experience of building positive working relationships both internally and externally;
  • Demonstrable ability to work on your own initiative and without close supervision;
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement, learning and personal development;
  • An awareness of data protection and the ability to maintain confidentiality;
