SC Cleared 3rd Line Support Engineer

Contract. 6 Months+ . £400-£450 P/D. Central Government. Outside of IR35 Scope

SC OR DV Cleared 3rd Line Support Engineer required in Milton Keynes. IT Operations - Technical Services performs a pivotal role in the successful delivery of front line IT services. The role is within the Network Support Team within the wider IT Operations. The 3rd line Network support technician will provide Technical support to all customers with direct customer interaction and the opportunity to develop and participate in project activities.

Skills and experience required


  • Experience in support and design in highly secure environments.
  • Cisco Switching, Routing, Security and wireless technologies (Aruba)
  • Network Protocols TCP/IP, BGP, ICMP, OSPF, IPSEC
  • Cisco ASA Firewall Administration and design
  • Palo Altop Firewall administration.
  • Experience of Virtual Environments and virtual network solutions
  • Experience in working within a secure environment such as the PAG's.
  • Experience in Cisco ISE and PRIME
  • BIG IP F5 Administration - LTM, ASM
  • Network Monitoring PRTG
  • Experience of any of the following; MS Windows Environment, Secure Video Conferencing
    Configuration writing or Working knowledge of Network Monitoring tools

Service Delivery:

  • Experience in working alongside many aspects of the ITIL3 environment, such as release to production, problem and change management.
  • The ability to take a complex problem and drive through to the end goal.
  • Strong analytical ability where trouble shooting scripted on-boarding processes.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to deliver.
  • The ability to create and support Operational Process documentation.
  • The ability to create and manage Operational Acceptance Criteria.
  • Experience of working within an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL v3) support environment.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management toolsets i.e. HP OVSD and HP Service Manager (SM9 and ServiceNow.
