Contract. 6 Months + . Milton Keynes. £320-£360 P/D Central Gov. Outside of IR35

SC Cleared Change and Release Manager. Reporting to the Service Transition Lead this role is accountable for providing Change and Release management activities working alongside Service Transition, Delivery and Architecture teams. A key element of the role will also be the ongoing coordination and remediation of IT Health Check data ensuring compliance is maintained.

The Change and Release Management role will manage the support, coordination and administration activities required to ensure releases are smoothly delivered into live operations. The role will involve relationship building with both the customer and internal stakeholders to help transition releases and remediate identified items from health checks. This element will ensure services are delivered in line with required security standards and best practice processes to achieve ongoing service excellence.

The role

  • Form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Operations teams, Project Managers, Product Owners and Technical Architects
  • Liaise with business and partners on release scheduling and communication of progress.
  • Provide cover in the absence of other team members
  • Ensure the authorisation of changes is granted prior to any activity being completed that requires it
  • Coordinating key interfaces between Release and Deployment Management and other processes
  • Ensures the IT Health Check process is adhered to and items coordinated and remediated in a timely fashion
  • Responsible for the Release and Deployment Management process
  • Ensures release processes and procedures are applied, document and manage risks, impacts and dependencies ensuring they are well understood.
  • Attends meetings and administers meeting minutes ensuring minutes are distributed and actions addressed and closed down.
  • Administers team resource plans regarding future releases
  • Record activities, logging results and document technical activity undertaken
  • Conduct post release reviews, providing reports and analysis to the management team
  • Design the release models and workflows
  • Organise all resources required to build, test and deploy releases
  • Organise all support for Release and Deployment Management tools and processes

Skills

  • Expert level with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent standards of literacy and numeracy with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to build relationships, able to work collaboratively within a team interacting with internal and external customers stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to meet deadlines and respond flexibly to the needs of the service
  • ITIL Foundation
  • PRINCE2 Foundation
  • Experience of working in a Service Management environment
