Job Description

SC Cleared Project Control Officer.

Contract. 9 months. Milton Keynes. Outside of IR35. £250-£280 Per day.

SC OR DV Cleared Project Control Officer required for an initial 9 month contract for a central government client. The Project Control/Support Officer will provide support, monitor and control to the Programme or Project Manager relating to, procurement activities (supplier orders and invoices) project planning, financial management, project documentation and reporting.

The role

  • Ensuring adherence to the programme and project standards across all projects
  • Assisting the PM and project teams in the development, production and maintenance of project plans
  • Developing and maintaining the project library, filing, recording and reporting systems
  • Co-ordination of the production of all project specific reports
  • Set up and maintain the project on PRISM ensuring costs are properly recorded
  • Assist the project team members in the application of project procedures, disciplines and recording and reporting standards
  • Maintain risk and issue log
  • Develop and support effective communication channels between project team members
  • Assist in the organisation of key stakeholder events
  • Setting up and maintaining project financials on Prism
  • Ensuring P3O standards and governance is adhered to
  • Dealing with Ad Hoc project finance queries
  • Resolution of committed costs outstanding on projects
  • Documentation and asset detail lodging with CMDB
  • Updating of MS Project plans (MS Project )
  • Ensure quality plans are being adhered to
  • Escalation to Head of Programmes of missed/outstanding project issues/reporting

Skills and experience

  • A strong interest in Project work and a commitment to developing the skills to deliver in this role or the ability to demonstrate experience of providing Project Support services to agreed quality standards which may be backed up by:Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Experience of managing project financials
  • PPSO, P3O experience or accreditation's
  • IT literate with extensive practical experience of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Motivated, self starter who can work without close supervision
  • Experience of working within a secure government environment
  • APM Fundamentals of Project Management
  • Certificate in Programme and Project Support Essentials (or advanced)
  • Agile delivery exposure or experience
