Network Security Analyst - 6 months - Edinburgh
Day rate negotiable subject to experience (outside IR35)

Network Security Analyst required to join a highly Agile culture within a public sector client. You will manage workloads using Kanban techniques providing a strong sense of ownership and duty of care to the security function. You should be a pragmatic decision maker who is able to balance risk with business facilitation.

  • Your role will facilitate:
    • Risk review and remediation
    • New security engineering solutions
    • Network security defence management
    • Assurance testing and reporting
    • Security reporting
    • Security incident and forensics response
    • Troubleshoot and help resolve any security related issues; provide guidance to wider technical teams on issues that fall within own skill areas

Essential Skills

  • Expertise knowledge in network security threat analyse and defence
  • Strong experience across at least three of the following:
    • Firewall zone and ruleset design, review, remediation
    • Security incident and forensics response
    • Security risk management against frameworks
    • Security design and review, inc ad hoc consultancy
    • Security management reporting
    • Support / manage security engineering technologies
  • Cisco Routing & Switching technologies
  • Robust TCP/IP knowledge
  • Strong Firewall, IDS, IPS knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of Operating system security aspects Linux, Windows
  • Good experience with vulnerability, patch analysis and remediation
  • sharing knowledge with, a range of sources and stakeholders
  • Minimum 3 Years' experience within a security role
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile working, including such disciplines as Kanban, feedback, retrospectives, VFQ.
  • Customer focused, through proactive engagement
  • Risk aware, focused on risk reduction and mitigation
