Job Description

Security and Risk Manager - North West

As a Security and Risk Manager you will deliver a security service that ensures technology is delivered in a secure way and exploits new technologies to protect the organisation. You will determine the technology security strategy by selecting appropriate technologies to meet this and ensuring compliance is met with security legislation and polices.

You will have a team of 4 direct reports

As a Security and Risk Manager you will be responsible for;

  • Cyber Security including the body of technologies, processes and practices designed to protect networks, computers, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorised access
  • Defining the security architecture strategy and develop security architectures against a backdrop of competing business, security and privacy requirements
  • Implementing protective security solutions that must incorporate expectations of Cyber Security, Physical Security and Personnel Security
  • Ensuring the viability of proposed technical and business solutions and provide direction, advice and guidance on the appropriate security approach to colleagues
  • Defining Risk Management requirements in relation to IT governance
  • Managing security and privacy risks and threats along with an expert understanding of key considerations
  • Identifing, analysing and evaluating information risks and explain to risk owners and other stakeholders the causes, likelihood and potential business impact of information risks throughout the information system lifecycle
  • Defining and implementing technical control frameworks and IT security principals
  • Leading the development of hardware, software and network security procedures and guidelines in support of security policies
  • Developing and maintaining the security policies, security metrics and KPIs
  • Maintaining PSN Compliance including CoCo (Code of Connection) submissions, IT Health Checks and Reaccreditation
  • Ensuring the estate remains patched and compliant to prevent any security vulnerabilities

To be a successful candidate you will require experience and knowledge in;

  • Management of security and governance function
  • Development and implementation of ICT security services
  • Development of secuirty architecture
  • Providing direction and guidance to develop the technical roadmap within their area of experitise
  • Proactively manage the forcasting and workload allocation across the team to meet ever changing and conflicting demands and priorities
  • Proformance review and development scheme
