Job Description

I am a currently recruiting on behalf of a local Council based in Wokingham who are looking for a Senior Microsoft Developer to lead the strategic direction of one of their core technology functions.

This includes building a clear organisational driven solution roadmap, leading the creation of technical architecture, overseeing and management of software development, responsibility for the support and maintenance of D365 (Microsoft Dynamics) and other software associated technologies as required.


  • Responsible for leading the Council's core Microsoft Developers to design and develop new and innovative solutions
  • Accountable for the creation and development of the Microsoft D365 roadmap based on the technology landscape, corporate objectives and priorities
  • Responsible for maintaining the Microsoft Dynamics security model, protecting resident data and commercially sensitive information
  • Leading on the relationship with Microsoft, ensuring Wokingham's ambition and future plans are clear and able to negotiate and drive strategic outcomes for the Council
  • Responsible for mentoring junior developers to build a resilient and robust Developer cohort
  • Ability to make decisions on how to manage and develop complex Microsoft solutions utilising technical knowledge, strategic understanding of the Azure estate and design need

Essential Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Online development including customisations and configuration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft associated languages including C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, JQuery, XML, HTML or CSS
  • Experience of designing self-service solutions with ADX Studio
  • Ability to lead and deliver a range of development projects, tasks and activities of varying complexity
  • Educated to a higher level (e.g. degree, HND), or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and aptitude
  • Ability to lead and deliver a range of development projects, tasks and activities of varying complexity.
