Job Description

Project Manager - Glasgow - HR System Implementation - 3 months


Experienced Project Manager who posesses HR Information Systems and HR recruitment process subject matter expertise required for an initial 3 month contract based in Glasgow.

The role will report to the Director of Programme Delivery. The Project Manager will establish and maintain appropriate governance arrangements for the project that ensures the successful implementation of the HR Recruitment Project Phase 2. This is achieved through: organisation and leadership; business case and benefits management; planning including interdependencies with other programmes and projects; stakeholder management and communications; risk management and issue resolution; quality control and; governance.

The role will provide specialism in HR processes, data management and HR Information Systems. This will be through the delivery of the following work packages:

  1. Ensure that work completed in Phase 1 is fully embedded across the University
  2. Further develop the "How To" guides and tools that help us tackle the culture change that needs to happen
  3. Bring CoreHR to the latest version so that we can maximise functionality
  4. Design, build, test and data migrate from iGrasp to the CoreHR eRecruitment module
  5. Remove non value transaction work that could be automated
  6. Provide tracking functionality so that Hiring Managers can easily see where their vacancy is in the process
  7. Provide meaningful reports so that we can identify where we need to focus efforts
  8. Launch a refreshed communication and training programme

Knowledge and Experience


  • Professionally qualified with a relevant degree or post graduate qualification
  • HR Information Systems and HR recruitment process subject matter expertise
  • Professionally qualified in Change Management, Human Resource Management or Communications
  • Awareness of Higher Education organisations, purpose, infrastructure


  • Significant experience in project management with proven delivery of complex projects of greater than £3m and full project lifecycle of more than 3 projects with duration of greater than 2 years
  • Project Business Case development and proven knowledge of developing and implementing change
  • Experience of accurately analysing data and providing management information to all areas of the organisation
  • Experience within a similar transformation, strategy, business change and planning experience gained in industry, the public sector and/or consultancy
  • Experience in leading a major business digital project with significant delivery implications in complex organisations including the use of tools and techniques including MSP, PRINCE2 and Agile amongst others
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of complex large scale delivery
