Software Engineer
Our client, based in the North East has a great opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer with strong expertise in C++. You will be joining a world leader in scientific technology and analysis.
The Job Role
You will be working as part of the Application Development team working across the development cycle to improve and extend the Company's software products.
Within the application team, you will be part of the group delivering new software features within a technology development process that involves defining requirements from research and development teams, specialists, product and user stakeholders.
Main Activities
To produce high quality software products to client specifications
To work to agreed timescales and deliver on time
To design and implement new product features
To maintain and improve existing products
To contribute effective knowledge and coaching and promote good software engineering practices through the team
Qualifications & Experience
At least 4 years commercial C++ development experience
Strong software engineering skills with knowledge of modern development principles
Experience of different and varied API's
Experience of developing end user desktop applications
Used to troubleshooting difficult software issues
A good track record in learning new patterns & technologies
Preferred Skills
Experience of agile development environments, including pair programming
TTD and UI design
Experience in development of scientific or computational software
