On the other hand, if you aren't afraid of a role where occasionally you'll be wading through worse situations than Tim Robbins at the end of Shawshank, then I could have just the thing for you. I'm working to find a SQL BI Developer with a South Manchester based Software platform provider who are in the midst of big changes (for the better) with their Microsoft based technical stack both on the BI and the .NET Development side.


We're looking for a talented SQL BI Developer with strong skills in SSIS and SSAS* (ideally but definitely good knowledge of Kimball DW methodology), along with working knowledge of the Microsoft BI stack - SQL Server (2008 R2 - 2016). This includes, but not limited to (Advanced T -SQL Queries and Stored Procedures), analysis services (Incl.Tabular Models), Power BI desktop, reporting services along with data modelling. Ideally they would like to have someone with OLAP/Cube experience but are open to people with Data Warehouse Kimball methodology knowledge that can pick the SSAS skills up quickly.


You'll be joining a multi award winning company who are committed to updating and improving their technical Data offerings and improving their technical stack across the board. They have an urgent need to build a new Data Warehouse solution and have already kicked things off with the initial projects. In this role you will get to work on a good variety of BI development projects and you will get the chance to showcase your skills/expertise developing BI solutions using the Microsoft BI Stack and Kimball methodology. You'll also get the chance to work within other talented BI Developers with Strong Data Warehouse SSAS skills who will mentor you as required.

What YOU need:

  • Strong skills developing and supporting SQL Server based solutions (SQL 2008- 2014)
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS/ETL)
  • SSRS
  • SQL Programming skills (T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, etc.)
  • Kimball DW Methodology
  • Experience with working with large data sets

Desirable skills/knowledge:

  • Experience of working on high availability/high volume systems
  • Data Warehouse design
  • Data Visualisation - Tableau, Power BI etc.
