Storage Specialist - Contract - Milton Keynes

6 Month Contract

As a Storage Specialist you will lead the analysis, design and development of the storage platforms and solutions for internal and external customers. As the storage specialist you will be able to deliver business, technical, service and commercial leadership in complex environments.

As a Storage Specalist you will be responsible for;

  • Undertaking architecture research and design activities
  • Providing 3rd & 4th line technical diagnosis and resolution of Incidents and Service Requests.
  • Assessing any proposed Request for Change (RfC) against business impact, cost, benefit and risk associated to maintaining the operational integrity of the platforms currently under support.
  • Recording and submitting iTime accurately within PRISM, on a weekly basis, in line with the corporate policy.
  • Understanding how the role contributes to the overall achievement of the wider ICT Operations and Global Digital Technology Group objectives and actively seek to enhance positive contribution.

Skills and experience required include;

  • Significant experience in supporting and configuring NetApp solutions based on CDoT and Metro Clusters.
  • Experience of writing high and low level design document sets.
  • Experience of architecture, design, implementation and support & managing the storage of virtual machines within sharedmulti-client platforms, including:
    • Windows-based OS.
    • Linux-based OS.
    • Understanding of NFS, and iSCSI.
  • Experience of design, implementation and support configuration of various tools to manage and monitor storage in virtual environments.
  • Good networking knowledge.
  • Ability to work within an ITIL based service organisation (particularly where project work, planned and reactive maintenance activities interface with the ITIL service processes).
