Technical Lead SharePoint/Web Infrastructure


3 month contract

This varied role is responsible for delivering in a number of key areas which include:

  • Assisting in content migration projects for SharePoint 2013
  • Implementation and delivery of Infrastructure requirements across SharePoint & IIS platforms
  • Technical solution design and implementation as part of delivering major Projects
  • Providing 3rd level support to ICT Systems and platforms
  • Investigation, analysis and exploitation of new and emerging Microsoft technologies

Role Summary

Currently our client is in the delivery phase of a migration from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013 on premise. This includes infrastructure management and data migration. This varied role is responsible for design and management of SharePoint Infrastructure and in supporting the content migration. In addition the role will also cover a variety of small project work for a variety of business requirements, providing Technical Solution design and implementation as part of delivering both small and major Projects

Successful candidate must have:

  • A strong Microsoft background and in-depth knowledge and experience in the design, delivery and 3rd line support of:
    • SharePoint 2010/2013 Infrastructure and its dependencies
    • Web hosting platforms (IIS Version 7 and above)
    • Web application deployments (SharePoint, IIS, MS SQL 2008-2014, PowerShell)
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft products and technologies with extensive experience in
    • PowerShell scripting
    • Content Migration using third party tools and traditional methods of SharePoint migration
  • Ability to develop core processes, standards and documentation, working as part of a successful team whilst maintaining the highest standards of service.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and fix faults across SharePoint and IIS platforms
  • Ability to manage a workload with many competing priorities.

Experience should incorporate exposure to enterprise environments, including:

  • Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services
  • Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services
  • Kerberos based authentication on Microsoft platforms
  • PowerShell automation scripts
  • Secure Networks

Any experience of the following additional technologies is a major benefit:

  • DevOps tools (TFS 2015, GIT, PowerShell DSC)
  • Microsoft SharePoint Business Intelligence platform
  • Content load balancing
  • VMware server virtualisation
  • Enterprise Storage
