Contract. 6 Months. Leeds. £350-£365 Per day (INSIDE OF IR35 SCOPE)

Test Analyst required urgently in Leeds. You must be a skilled, delivery focused Test Engineer with experience of contributing to Testing in large or complex organisations. You will be responsible for test scripting and test execution as well as recording actual outcomes and investigating and logging defects. You will also contribute your knowledge and skills in the areas of performance or automation testing to proactively support the delivery of optimal testing services to a wide range of projects and development deliverables.

The role

  • Testing web applications, interface testing, Windows App Testing, which includes the planning, test script creation, execution and reporting of tests, using appropriate testing tools and techniques and conforming to agreed process standards and specific regulations. You will be experienced in the provision of performance or automation testing services in complex environments.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for undertaking testing of a diverse range of applications and systems
  • Responsible for the ongoing management of defects aligned to the Test and Defect Management Strategies
  • Production of test reports and scripts, planning the most appropriate form of testing, using relevant test tools and approaches to ensure robust testing of systems and applications
  • Execution of various levels of tests within the technical test framework
  • Planning and execution of performance or automation test cases using specialist tools, interpreting results and forming recommendations for reasons, and mitigation;
  • Oversee and quality assure external or third party test processes and delivery;
  • Develop innovative solutions, including recommending when automated testing may be relevant or appropriate;
  • Maintaining accurate and effective records and documents with a high level of attention to detail;
  • Proactively support a range of projects and development activities through application of knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and your experience in testing;

Skills and experience

  • Extensive experience of working in an application development or testing role;
  • Expert knowledge of testing techniques used to plan and execute software tests of application components (functional and non-functional) to verify that the solution satisfies specified requirements and to detect errors;
  • Experience of performance or automation testing;
  • Experience of working on software development projects and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC);
  • ISTQB/ISEB Test Automation Engineer or ISTQB/ISEB Performance Test Engineer qualification
