Contract. Nottingham. 3 Months +. £350 - £400 per day. INSIDE IR35

One of our public sector clients are looking for a Web and Application Developer to join them in Nottingham.

Job description

Within an agreed framework, takes responsibility for the provision of maintenance an support services for allocated applications or technology.

To operate as a recognised specialist resource in terms of expertise with specific application development tools, technologies or knowledge of specific application systems, or use of recognised methodologies and techniques.

Implements processes and procedures, tools and techniques for managing the performance of allocated ICT services, in respect of their agreed contribution to business performance and benefits to the business. Monitors performance of allocated applications and takes corrective action where necessary.

Implements policy to ensure ICT services is capable of supporting current and future needs of the Authority and improve the quality of services delivered

Contributes to the preparation for new or changed services, adherence to the defined change process and the maintenance of regulatory, legal and professional standards.

Education and Knowledge

Educated to at least GCE A level, SQA Highers or equivalent standard or can demonstrate relevant recent experience.

Demonstrates current and thorough understanding of developments in the application of ICT and is able to assimilate and interpret advice from specialists - technical or otherwise.

Has achieved high levels of proficiency in the task of Application support - SFIA Level 3 or has achieved proficiency (Level 3) in the area of SFIA Solutions Development & Implementation (e.g. system design/network design/systems integration) with at least three years' experience of applying, or researching into, the technical specialism.

Specialist Knowledge/Skills

Specialist knowledge and skills in one or more applications, technologies or industries.

Examples: business process re-engineering, IP networks, customer relationship management, area networks, virtualisation, mobile technologies/solutions, social care systems, GIS.

Programming / software development and their effective implementation within NCC's current technology base and emerging technologies.

Exposure to and demonstrable knowledge of ITIL

Demonstrable skills and experience of key infrastructure technologies such as Servers, Communications, Operating systems and the frameworks and principles on which networks, systems, equipment and resources are based. Examples: MS product set (Server or Client stack), UNIX, Oracle, TDM, ATM, TCP/IP, browser technologies.

Framework, management structures and reporting procedures.

Experienced user of MS Project, Word, Excel, Visio, e-mail, PowerPoint and the internet / intranet.


3 years relevant work experience within the area of specialism or Technical ICT environment.
Proven experience in applying specialist knowledge to deliver solutions to business requirements.
